Hello, I am Bill Burns

I was born in Jeffersonville and I have never left….. living just a few years shy of my entire life within a one-mile radius.  My wife Angie and I have raised our two children and have grown to appreciate how our community provides the amenities of a larger metropolitan city while giving us the security and feel of a closely knit hometown.

The City of Jeffersonville and its supporters have been fertile ground for me to start and expand my entrepreneurial skills.  From humble beginnings at age 8, where I started my first business selling golf balls at the Jeffersonville Elks Golf Course to several well known Jeffersonville business today that provide employment and services to many in the community.

For the last three years, I have served in a volunteer position with the Jeffersonville Parks Authority.  It is here where I have been able to learn the challenges and triumphs of our city. I have learned that things are not always what they seem.  I have learned that it takes vision, compromise, and collaboration to make things happen. But most of all, I have uncovered a deep passion that I have for this community and that has prompted my desire to bring progress and continuous improvement to the place we call home.

As a hometown guy, I bring a homegrown sense of pride.
As a parent, I understand the need for safety, education and creating a community that they won’t want to leave
As a business owner, I have experienced the challenges and responsibility of being a small business owner.
As a community volunteer, I see the needs in our community.
As a leader, I can be a voice for those unheard.
As a candidate, I will be visible and I will listen.
As a City Councilman, I will be part of decisions that move Jeffersonville in a positive direction to create a community that WE are proud of.

Today, I officially announce my candidacy for Jeffersonville City Council District 2 – Republican candidate.  I appreciate your support and look forward to meeting each of you between now and election day.
