Jeffersonville Roots
Jeffersonville has never just been where Bill Burns lives—it has always been home.
Born and raised in Jeffersonville, Bill learned the value of hard work at an early age. As a fourth grader, he earned his first paycheck selling golf balls at the Jeffersonville Elks golf course. By the age of ten, he was mowing yards throughout Golfview Estates. Those early experiences taught him responsibility, customer service, and the importance of treating people with honesty and respect.
Today, Bill continues to call Jeffersonville home with his wife, Angie. It is where they raised their family, built businesses, and remain deeply committed to the community they love.
Business Leadership
Bill became a REALTOR® in 2001 and later became the Broker/Owner of REMAX FIRST, growing it into one of Southern Indiana’s leading real estate companies. He later founded Aristocrat Title, expanding his mission of helping buyers, sellers, REALTORS®, lenders, and investors navigate one of life’s biggest financial decisions with confidence.
Throughout his career, Bill has built businesses centered on professionalism, education, exceptional customer service, and giving back to the communities they serve. His leadership has earned recognition throughout the region, but he believes success is measured by the relationships built and the trust earned along the way.
Committed to Community
Giving back has always been a cornerstone of Bill’s life.
He proudly supports organizations that make a lasting difference in the lives of local families, including Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, the Clark County Youth Shelter, the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army, and the Center for Lay Ministries.
Bill also served on the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis Real Estate Industry Advisory Council, where he provided insight on housing, real estate, and economic trends affecting communities across the region.
Whether volunteering, supporting local nonprofits, or mentoring others, Bill believes strong communities are built by people willing to invest their time, talents, and resources.
Public Service & Leadership
In 2019, Bill was elected to represent District 2 on the Jeffersonville City Council—the same district where he grew up, raised his family, and built his career.
As a council member, Bill is committed to thoughtful, fact-based leadership. He believes in listening before making decisions, being transparent with residents, and focusing on practical solutions that strengthen neighborhoods, support public safety, encourage responsible economic development, and protect taxpayers.
His goal has always been simple: leave Jeffersonville better than he found it.
A Lifetime of Service
Whether helping a family purchase their first home, mentoring a local business owner, supporting a charitable organization, or serving residents at City Hall, Bill believes leadership begins with service.
Jeffersonville has given Bill a lifetime of opportunities. Giving back to the community that gave him those opportunities isn’t just something he does—it’s who he is.
He remains committed to helping make Jeffersonville one of the very best places in Indiana to live, work, raise a family, and build a business.
Bill has been married to his wife, Angie, since 1993. They have two children: Sophia O’Coffey, who is married to Abraham and has two children; and Leo, who is married to Sarah and has two children
